At its core, Notes on Power is my unofficial, unauthorised, unaccredited, “no cap” PhD on power theories in advisory-based business.
It's where I try things, mess up spectacularly, and figure out what actually works—so you can take the insights, skip the screw-ups, and move faster toward becoming the go-to name in your industry.
Why Does Notes on Power Exist?
Because power isn’t something you’re born with—it’s something you accumulate as you build a business that works beautifully with who you are.
One thing I do know for sure is that power isn’t binary. It’s not “you’ve got it or you don’t.” Real, legitimate power develops gradually—step by intentional step. You gain it through your actions, your positioning, and by showing up so consistently that everyone around you begins to see you as the Player who leads the charge (whether you choose to do so from the front, the back or somewhere in the middle).
Notes on Power exists to help you shortcut that process by giving you actionable insights rooted in one huge belief: power isn’t something to fear—it’s something to hone and wield responsibly to shape your industry, serve your clients, and leave your space better than you found it. And yes, sometimes I go rogue while testing my theories, and make a glorious mess…but every experiment brings clarity and wins that we can ALL learn from.

Who’s Behind Notes on Power?
That’ll be me. I’m Coach Kym—aka Chief Troublemaker, unapologetic rule-breaker and your guide to going against the tide. My role is part kingmaker and part chaos agent as I build the solo business titans of tomorrow.
I’ve spent the last 20+ years navigating power dynamics across industries: as an ex-Nike athlete, corporate consultant, brand strategist, and now as the creator of Project Power Player. At every step, one thing has been clear:
Power isn’t a weapon. It’s a tool.
My mission? To build Players who respect ethical boundaries use power positively to create deeper impact—for their clients, their communities, and their industries.
